Social distancing is a new and hopefully temporary norm with the threat of COVID-19 in our communities. As we continue to adjust to this new way of living, the Hitchcock Center remains committed to the importance of getting outside in nature to improve your sense of well-being and connection.
We know that with trails being crowded, you may be looking for other places off the beaten path to get outside while also keeping a safe distance from others. To help you, we are republishing a number of seasonally appropriate blog posting based on our original 50th Anniversary blog on 50 places introduced in 2012.
Look for these on a weekly basis, here on our blog feed and on social media, to inspire your explorations outdoors.
Here’s how we introduced the series during our 50th Anniversary in 2012:
In honor of the Hitchcock Center’s 50th year, Hitchcock staff and friends will be sharing favorite places to experience nature in the Pioneer Valley. Each week, we will highlight what’s happening outside and where to enjoy the experience. Whether you’re looking for good sites to observe hawk migration, the right spot to find moose tracks in snow, or just a good place for a family picnic, we will have suggestions of where to go at the best time of year.
