Elizabeth Farnsworth (aka “Fernsworth”), coauthor of the Peterson Field Guide to the Ferns, will introduce you to the major groups of true ferns, moonworts, horsetails, clubmosses, spikemosses, and quillworts. We will learn how to identify these plants, discuss their lifestyles and ecology, view specimens under a microscope, and travel into the field to view a variety of these diverse plants.
