Net Zero Water and the Living Building Challenge

Thursday, April 14, 2016—7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

FREE

Chris Chamberland, Civil Engineer Berkshire Design
Thursday, April 14, 7pm
The new Hitchcock Center for the Environment and its future neighbor, Hampshire College’s Kern Center, will soon meet the ambitious goal of net zero water. Chris Chamberland, the civil engineer for both projects, will take a deep dive into the systems that allow these buildings to capture rainfall for drinking water as well as treat their own wastewater on-site. He will explore the technical and regulatory challenges faced by the project team, and will highlight the ways in which these systems mimic not just traditional water systems, but also the natural systems found just outside the doors of these new buildings. FREE but space is limited, please call to register
