Ted Watt and Nancy Goodman, Naturalists and Tree Enthusiasts
Sunday, November 22
10 am-1pm
Join us for a leisurely hike along a dirt road in the flood plain near Mitch’s Marina in Hadley. We’ll be observing different species by their bark, their shape, and habitat, since most of the leaves will be down. Leafless trees are a different journey, but not very difficult when you learn the new skills and what to look for. We’ll see a wide variety of species that are adapted to this unique habitat and explore a wonderful hiking area that may be new to many. Bring binoculars (useful for high elevation “tree-ing”), snacks and water and wear comfortable walking shoes. The road is very gentle with easy footing. Directions to meeting point will be provided upon registration. Members $20/ Non-members $25. Space is limited, please call to register.
